Ultra Deep Field

Data Release

Release of combined UDF ACS and NICMOS primary and parallel
images and their associated data products and catalogs was on March 9th. 2004
The data as well as additional information concerning the UDF can be accessed
via the links below.

The ST-ECF Contribution to the UDF

The ST-ECF is managing the processing of ACS HRC Parallels. This is a result of the engagement of ST-ECF in the development of slitless spectroscopy extraction software and the fact that the HRC filter selection, which is automatically determined by the ACS/WFC primary filter in use, resulted in large amounts of slitless spectroscopy data. Since there are two slightly different roll angles during each of the two UDF epochs of observing, the ACS HRC Parallels consist of two independent pairs of HRC fields. Within each pair the overlap is around 50% of the area. Both pairs of overlapping fields fall mainly in the GOODS CDFS field.
The high level science products reduced from the ACS HRC images will be obtainable together with the other data products of the Hubble Space Telescope Ultra Deep Field program. All images, catalogues and spectra can then be obtained from the distributing archives listed in the links below.
Besides the reduction of the high level science products, the ST-ECF will also host a preview of the data extracted from the ACS HRC Parallels. That preview will become public together with the official data release.
