Space Telescope European Coordinating Facility Web Newsletter May 1999

Note: This web-based Newsletter was announced to appear twice a year, an announcement which turned out not to be true. In fact this Web-based Newsletter is the ony one which ever existed. When migrating the ST-ECF webpages to a new layout in June 2006, we also ported this Web-based Neswletter, since it presents part of the ST-ECF history which must be preserved. Necessary adjustments were done to e.g. get the image directories correct. Occasionally you still may find a broken link to an image, which however does not limit the usefulness of the text, which was trasferred correctly.

This is the first edition of the ST-ECF Web-based Newsletter. It is a complement to the printed ST-ECF Newsletter, which appears twice per year.
The aim of this Web Newsletter is to present more technical material as well as in-depth articles in support of reports that appear in the printed Newsletter.
