Software for Grouping and Procssing of Grism + Direct Images
NICTOOLS A set of IRAF scripts
to help to create "association files" for grism and direct images, process
those images and co-add them. Also useful for pure direct image observations.
Spectrum Extraction Software
NICMOSlook
Interactive tool to
extract spectra from grism images or analyze spectra extracted by
other means. Implemented as
IDL widget, needs IDL running under X.
CalnicC
A now obsolete program to extract spectra from grism images and matching direct images
without human intervention. Not supported any longer and not recommended for
NICMOS. This program is being replaced by a new version of the aXe extraction software.
Spectrum Deconvolution Software
Slitless grism spectroscopy results in confused spectra in
crowded field and for extended objects. When several such images are
taken at different role angles, it is in principle possible to deconvolve
such confused images.
Experimental software to solve this problem has been developed at
ST-ECF, based on full 3d deconvolution
( GRISMdecon.).
