- aXe-2.0 was released in November 2009 as the external PyRAF/IRAF package taxe20.
Pre-release versions of aXe-2.0 had been extensively used and tested in the reduction
of Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) grism data. We strongly recommended to install and use aXe-2.0 for the
reduction of all WFC3 slitless modes.
- aXe-2.0 is part of STSDAS 3.11, which was released in November 2009.
Within STSDAS 3.11, aXe resides in the sub-package 'analysis.slitless.axe'.
With respect to the previous version 1.7, the new version 2.0 contains no new functional improvements
or changes. With WFC3 there is now a new instrument with slitless modes on Hubble. We have used this opportunity to
completely refacturing the existing python code in order to have a clean and well designed code bases
for future developments.
