Installation and Download

aXe Distribution

aXe is distributed as the external PyRAF/IRAF package taxe20 (see below), and as a subpackage to STSDAS (under analysis.slitless.axe in STSDAS 3.11). The tasks in taxe20 have the same names as the aXe in STSDAS, but, depending on the versions, a potentially different implementation. To separate the aXe tasks in the STSDAS distribution from the tasks in the taxe20 package, all taxe20 tasks have the letter t as a prefix. For example, the taxe20 task taxecore corresponds to the STSDAS task axecore.

The current situation (as of November 19th, 2009) is that the latest STSDAS version 3.11 (released in November 2009) contains its predecessor aXe-2.0. The external package taxe20, which is offered on this page, can be run together with the older STSDAS 3.10.
