At the time of this exhibition, the Hubble Space Telescope will have completed more than 111 000 orbits of the Earth. During Hubble's 20 years of operation, astronomers using its instruments have transformed our view of the Universe and changed the way science - represented by the universally recognised and stunningly beautiful images - has been brought into people's homes. From studies of objects in the most distant reaches of space and time to the analysis of planetary atmospheres both within and outside our Solar System, Hubble has influenced almost every part of astrophysics. In these rooms, you will see some of the most striking images and discover how the astronauts were able to perform their complex tasks in space to keep the observatory operating at peak performance.
